Hello, friends!

Many of you know that I’ve been blogging for a long time. Like, solidly-over-a-decade long time. I made myself a chaotic blogspot back in 2011 with a rainbow-polka-dot background and handwriting-like font. The visual effect was like the equivalent of having someone else spit pre-chewed pop rocks into your mouth, baby bird-style. I had the good sense to archive that beloved URL a few years ago, and I’ve been blogging intermittently here ever since.

Blogging here has been slow, partially because I started publishing my work in other venues. I can now boast literal dozens of publications in various literary magazines (!!!), which is mind-boggling and humbling when I remember the anxiety of working toward my first bylines. Most magazines have a requirement that work must be previously unpublished, including on a personal blog, website, or social media, so I started reserving my best work for submission.

But NOW—drumroll please! Sorry, I buried the lede—-I’m launching my own substack! Find CRITIC AT PLAY located at MWatsonFore.Substack.com!

And I’m going to strive to make that newsletter consistent, dammit. (There’s nothing worse than someone starting a blog and IMMEDIATELY falling off the wagon. Okay, there’s a lot worse, but it’s still disappointing.) Eventually, I’ll be adding tiers for exclusive content and maybe even some sweet product drops and merch releases. I will continue updating this website with information about my recent publications, and every so often I’ll do an update with images of my latest watercolors and fiber projects.
